entry way / hallway reveal – using easy diy wall trim
This hallway has been one project after another, and has taken years to accomplish. From ripping out the carpet on the stairs and replacing that with wood and a runner, to a new railing, and even building my very first piece of furniture from scratch. It’s been quite the journey to get to this place, but I am so happy with how our entry way has turned out.
We don’t have a large house or a grand entry way. We have a standard sized home and the “entryway” if you can even call it that is a hallway. I still wanted to create something special. I can say without a doubt, I’ve done just that! But first lets take a trip down memory lane and see where it all started.
before
This is how this space started out. Well…t didn’t start out with the carpet torn up, I did that and then snapped the picture. But it did have old beige carpet, an out dated railing, and beige walls.
We lived like this with no rug or treads and no railing for longer than I’d like to admit. But at least we were making progress!
We finally got the treads on, and a new more modern railing that I painted black.
This is what the hallway looked like. Nothing wrong with it, but I knew we could make it better and more special!
after
This is the after! We put so much work and time into this space. Like I said, we don’t have a grand entry way, but I think I turned it into something beautiful that I enjoy walking through daily. One of my favorite parts was finally hanging family photos, and the picture lights. I think that detail is what truly makes this hallway. The picture lights are battery operated, from Amazon, and we’re so easy to install.
I’m also in the process of updating my dining room. Just wait until you see the view from this last picture when the dining room is complete. It’s going to be amazing, I can’t wait to show you!
