The best keto turkey meatballs you have to try

These are some of the best turkey meatballs you have to try. When I started keto I made a list of all of the foods I like to cook, and thought about how I could Keto-fy them! Top of the list was meatballs. I’ve made these with regular beef as well, but I also like turkey just as much. They are an easy go to recipe of mine. I hope the authentic Italians aren’t rolling in their graves reading this, but these keto turkey meatballs are easy and worth giving a try.

I prefer to use 85/15 turkey meat for these meatballs. Especially because they are low carb the extra fat is good for a keto diet, but it just overall makes a better, more moist meatball. You can always use whatever percentage of meat you prefer, i’m just telling you my preference for the best tasting keto turkey meatball!

The other secret to making them keto, is to grind pork rinds in a food processor! It. makes the perfect keto “breadcrumbs”. If you don’t have a food processor you can put them in a bag and use a rolling pin to break them down as much as possible.

One more note, if you don’t have fresh parsley you can use 1 Tbs of dried parsley instead, or just omit it! It wont change the overall flavor profile of the meatballs.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup Ground Pork Rinds
  • 1/2 Cup Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 Tbsp Italian Seasoning
  • 3 Tbsp Fresh Parsley
  • 1/2 Tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 Tbsp Minced Garlic
  • Salt and Pepper
  • 1 Egg
  • Splash of milk
  • 1 Pound Ground Turkey 85/15

Instructions

  • Turn on oven to 400 degrees.
  • Place pork rinds into a food processor to make "bread crumbs". A food processor works best, but if you don't have one you can place the pork rinds in a bag and break them down as much as you can.
  • Mince parsley
  • Add first 6 ingredients.
  • Next, add salt and pepper. I just use my grinder and keep going until it "looks good". I think salt and pepper is personal preference so I don't like to make specifics, but if I had to guess it's about 1 Tsp each. Mix together.
  • Add in the egg, and splash of milk. Mix together.
  • I prefer to mix the other ingredients well first. Then add in the turkey meat last and mix until combined, be careful not to over mix.
  • Form into 1oz meatballs and place on baking sheet.
  • Cook in the oven for 25 minutes, and turn the oven on broil for the last 5 minutes.
